Greetings from the Poconos! We have some new features and options we’d like to share with you:

To zoom, or not to zoom?

I recently had a conversation with a client regarding their “responsive” (mobile-friendly) website. They were requesting “pinch and zoom” capabilities to enlarge photos.

When building responsive sites, I typically don’t use the pinch and zoom feature. This creates a website that behaves more like an app which normally doesn’t have zooming capabilities.

  • Look at your site using tablets and smart phones. If you are seeing a smaller version of your website, your site is not “responsive.” Email us and we will put a free estimate together for you!
  • If we already built you a responsive site and you want to change the “pinch to zoom” setting, let us know and we’ll adjust it at no cost.

To upgrade, or not to upgrade?

My favorite part about using open source software is that, as a business owner, you call all the shots. You choose where to host the site. You decide who is allowed to access and work on it. You can install plugins and make customizations.

The downside is that the installation of updates and patches is also your responsibility. We’ve observed good hosting companies patch their entire networks so that if you don’t install a patch, your site is still secure. If your site is not running the latest version of the corresponding software, there may be security patches available. If you’re not sure, drop us an email and we’ll do a quick check at no charge.

What else can we do to help your business grow?

Please reach out if you’d like to learn more about what we can do for you and your business.

Warm regards,
Nathan Covington
