Now on a Mac

Written by  Nate Covington

Mac logoI just picked up a 15" MacBook Pro, and I'm never going back. I made the jump from Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, using Outlook 2003 Professional; now using Mac OSX with Apple's included software - Mail, iCal, and Address Book. It even syncs with my Blackberry!

Top 5 Reasons I Made the Jump:

  1. It Just Works
I've been running my new Mac for over a month now, and the only time it even came close to crashing was when I used Parallels to boot into Windows XP.
  2. Cross-Platform Compatibility
When I picked up my MacBook Pro, I brought it home and plugged it into my home network. It automatically recognized the other PC's on the network and I was able to drag-and-drop files between them. Out of the box.
  3. Time Machine
Finally. A backup utility that you don't have to think about. It just works, and then when you need to retreive something out of the backup, you grab it. Done.
  4. No Drivers
Apple doesn't use drivers. Why struggle?

  5. Microsoft is in big trouble with Vista
It's no secret that Microsoft has painted themselves into a corner with Vista. People are downgrading from Vista to XP. I rest my case.
